Aikido and Shoto: Keeping "The Big Picture" by entering to uke's base (Gyaku hanmi)

Do you sometimes find yourself zeroing in on upper body connection and losing sight of the big picture? And specifically, uke’s base?

Using shoto towards their base can renew your sense of “the big picture” in your training.

In today’s video, I’m going to share a couple clips from a seminar I did last month in Bonn, Germany. In these clips, I explore the power of entering toward uke’s base and using the shoto, or short sword, as a pointer, as it were.

Let’s check it out.
