AIKIDO: Ushiro Ryokatadori, Part 2 (Kotegaeshi) Move BIG!

Do you sometimes mistake which hand to use from ushiro ryokatadori, when executing kotegaeshi?

Today’s video is another in my New Year’s seminar series that took place in Los Angeles last month.

In this video, we continue the theme of centering, grounding, and expansion that we were working on in last week’s video with ushiro ryokatadori kokyunage. But today, we continue the movement by finishing with kotegaeshi.

Like in last week’s video, I stress to the seminar participants to move forward from their center. I also point out which hand lends itself nicely to grasping uke’s hand for kotegaeshi.

I hope today’s video will give you some insight, inspiration, and motivation to help you make the most of the new year and realize your Aikido goals in 2023.
