Martial Arts Teacher Training: Acknowledge the Positive to keep your students motivated

Have you ever had a teacher who always told you what NOT to do and what you were doing WRONG, but never seemed to acknowledge the things you were doing right?

And have you ever had a teacher who actually did acknowledge the things you were doing right?

I would be willing to bet that you learned more from the teacher who acknowledged the things you were doing right, yes? Leave a comment below if I’m right about that.

Of course, as a teacher it’s sometimes difficult to even find positive things. Sometimes it seems like a student isn’t even trying.

In today’s video, I’m going to talk about one of the 4 Pillars of my Teaching Philosophy, which is to acknowledge the positive in each student and how it can benefit them, you, and your dojo community.
